About
Welcome to Psychological Health and Safety in the Private Voice Lesson. This course introduces foundational concepts of psychological health and safety within the context of one to one voice teaching. Through practical examples, reflection prompts, and scenario based learning, the course encourages voice teachers to critically examine communication, feedback, consent, and relational dynamics within studio teaching. Rather than presenting psychological safety as separate from effective teaching, this course approaches psychologically safe communication and reflective pedagogy as preventative professional practices that support healthier and more sustainable learning environments. Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, participants will be able to: - Define psychological health and safety within voice teaching contexts - Identify psychologically risky communication practices in singing lessons - Apply psychologically safer feedback and correction strategies - Recognize ethical considerations surrounding touch and consent - Reflect on personal teaching practices and communication habits - Identify practical strategies for creating psychologically safer studio environments
